Sometimes and Always Link Up

I am linking up with Megan again from Mackey Madness.

Sometimes....I have good intentions of putting away my clean clothes right away when they come out of the dyer.
Always....The clean clothes sit in the basket for about a week before I put them away.

Sometimes....I intend to eat more healthy.
Always....I just can't resist chocolate and potato chips.

Sometimes....I get motivated to clean the whole entire house.
Always....I either procrastinate or I get distracted and I do not get everything cleaned that I intended to.

Sometimes....I intend to get up early so that I can actually get to work on time.
Always....I hit the snooze and end up being late.

Sometimes....I enjoy just being by myself.
Always....I enjoy the company of my husband and wish weekends were longer so that we could spend more time together.

Ornament Swap

I was so excited to hear about the ornament swap that Megan and Julie were hosting and had to participate. I had so much fun with this. I was linked up with Kari. She sent me the most adorable ornament.

I just love this ornament. Snowmen are my favorite. Thanks Kari!!

Today I am linking up with Megan again from Mackey Madness. I had so much fun last time that I had to join in again.

Sometimes I wish I had an office with a window.
Always grateful I even have an office.

Sometimes I wish I was a better cook.
Always grateful that my husband loves to cook.

Sometimes I really intend to put more money in savings.
Always I find that new shirt or pair of pants that I really want.

Sometimes I wish people still sent letters/cards through the mail rather than email.
Always I get excited to find a card in my mail box.

Sometimes I enjoy a lazy Saturday.
Always grateful that I do not have to work on the weekend.

Joy

The third week of Advent is about joy. Many of us are happy, but being happy is just an external feeling. Joy is internal. Joy is a deeper feeling created by God. We feel joy knowing that God cares for us and loves us. Joy is remembering that God sent Jesus so we would know that God cares for us.

In Luke 1: 47-55 we read Mary's song of joy. Even though she was frightened and uncertain of her future she chose to keep her eyes on God. She looked for joy in times of uncertainty.

Lord, help me to look for joy in times of uncertainty. Help me to live in such a way that my words and actions help others know of the joy you give.

Coffee: The nectar of the gods

When I was in the six grade my social studies teacher drank coffee every day during our class. And every day after taking a drink he would hold up his cup say "the nectar of the gods." I never had any clue what he was talking about, but assumed that he must really be loving his coffee. Just recently I decided to look up what "the nectar of the gods" meant. And according to the Urban Dictionary it means, "a name for the drink which has the sweetest taste of any drink." Now that I look back on it and think about my teacher saying this about his coffee and what it actually means cracks me up. But I have to admit, now that I drink coffee myself I do share his love for it. I always enjoy a good cup of coffee. My day is not complete without my coffee first thing in the morning after I wake up. I do believe that I am addicted to coffee. I am not sure what I would do I could not drink it anymore. So to me coffee is a drink which has the sweetest takes of any drink.

Today I am linking up with Megan from Mackey Madness.

Sometimes...I go to bed at night motivated to get up early the next morning and go to the gym and workout.
Always....I wake up unmotivated and wanting sleep longer and 9 times out of 10 skip the gym.

Sometimes....I wish that I had a higher paying job with lots of power and that everyone would know who I am.
Always....I want to be able to stay home when we have babies and not have to deal with a high stress job.

Sometimes....I want live in a place where it is warm all year round.
Always....I am thankful that I live where I am able to enjoy every season of the year.

Sometimes....I want yell at the car in front of me who does not seem to know how to drive.
Always....I try and keep my cool and not let my anger get the best of me.

Sometimes....I wonder how it is I got so lucky to have such a great man as my husband.
Always....I thank God for bringing him into my life and for blessing me with the perfect man for me.

Hope and Love

One of my favorite parts of the Christmas season is Advent. I have always loved each Sunday seeing the candles being lit and hearing the message that is for that week. It always reminds of what the true meaning of the holiday season is all about.

Last Sunday was the first Sunday of Advent. The message for that week was hope. The first candle lit was to symbolize hope. Advent is a time of waiting and hoping. We wait for the day when we celebrate the birth of Jesus. With the lighting of the first candle we also remember God's promise. God promised that he would send a Savior to the people.

Today is the second Sunday in Advent. Today's message is love. Today we remember God's love for us. We remember the love that God has for us and that he loved us so much that he sent his Son to us. We remember the ultimate sacrifice that He made for us all.

Advent is a time when we can stop and remember what this season is really about.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

December is one of my favorite months of the year. I love putting up the tree and setting out all the decorations. It always brings back so many memories of being a kid and enjoying the holiday season. I love all the pretty lights and sparkly decorations. It is almost magical.

This past week I put up all decorations around the house. Here are just a few images for you to enjoy.

The cat's new favorite place to sleep.

My favorite ornament from when I was a kid. This was a present from my grandmother one year.

My new snowman. Love him!

December truly is one of my favorite times of the year. I love the lights and decorations. And I love what Christmas stands for and the reminder of Christ's birth and love for all of us.
